Obviously an error of some type. Anyone have a clue why every website is showing this fund having had an 84% drop today? When I go into their holdings it only brings up 4 stocks so maybe they switched a few positons that aren't showing up correctly.....

They paid out the following:

Short term capital gains: $1.2302 per share
Long term capital gains: $2.524 per share

It's nice that the majority of the distribution was LTCG!

I always reinvest any dividends and/or CG's. This is a very good fund and takes a lot of the risk out of the market for you. If you were looking to add more, right after a distribution like this is not a bad time to do so. And I only say this because of the perception some investors have when they look at the chart. A lot of people will buy because it now looks cheap even though it is no better off today then it was yesterday. In any case, this is definitely a fund I will hold for a very long time...

If you do the math given that you re-invested the distribution from yestterday, Leuthold went up just a little less than 1% yesterday. That's actually a lot less than the market, although it is a little less risky vs. some of my other mutual fund holdings i.e., CGMFX + 4.125, FLATX + 6.24% yesterday.

I called Leuthold and they're saying there was a capital gains distribution yesterday that usually causes this. The shareholders received their share of the payout and can choose to re-invest or take the cash.

I'm investigating as to whether what we received offsets the drop in price. The LCORX chart doesn't show any drop like this, ever, and there have been capital gains distributions before.

I'm a novice investor but am trying to figure out why to not just buy a ton more today?
