I'd have to see the extent of writedowns declared in 4th qtr reports. Some banks will take the tact of trying to keep '08 financials cleaner by packing in the bad news into '07, since this year's been busted anyhow. Then you will see more bloodletting in stock prices through impulse selling. Other banks might be far too timid and stonewall the inevitable, and that type of action will very much mislead investors and prolong the agony. The slow-to-discloser's will serve as a drag on the rest. Much indigestion is still in store for those who risk too early.
