Well, you have to look a bit beyone the NAV to know what a fund is doing. The NAV drops when they distribute capital gains, dividends, etc. It has dropped about 25% from Jan 1, 2007 to now. On the other hand if you look at the years from 2000 to 2004, the fund markedly outperformed its category during a time small cap stocks and financials outperformed the market. It was in the wrong sector and the wrong portion of the small to large cap spectrum over the past year or two. Buy low, sell high, not the reverse. Now is the time to get into financials, and perhaps a bit early on small caps. This is the right fund to average into over the next couple of years. You can sell, but I am buying.
