Never had a problem with Fidelity. Customer service has been great, website has posed no problems. All my investment changes were easy to navigate and clearly tells when you are choosing future contributions or moving existing money.
Fidelity sucks because they are holding my money I sent them and said it would be available for trading on the 10th and it's the 15th and it still isn't. The trades I was planning and haven't been able to make has already cost me a 20% profit!!!!! so they suck and I won't be sending them another dime. Now I have to look into transfering my account to somewhere else because they don't diserve my business.. or yours so don't do business with Fidelity!

Speaking of Fidelity.....ATTENTION FIDELITY 401k users: For anyone who uses Fidelity as their 401k provider, there is a really poorly designed feature on their corporate NetBenefits website that may lead you to make a huge error and could cost you a lot of money.

If you use the drop-down menu and select "Investment Elections", it will bring you to a page where you can select "Change your Investment Elections". Click on this and you get a page listing all of the fund choices and you can enter in whatever percentage of your portfolio you want in which fund. Simple, right?

What you have just done is changed your investments for all future contributions to your 401k. The changes you made will have no effect on your existing portfolio. Nowhere on any of the pages leading to this point say ANYTHING about future contributions.

It’s a very poorly designed website. Much of the navigation is non-intuitive, confusing, misleading, and lots of redundant areas. But hey, its just your 401k so no big deal.

It wasn't bad enough that they were loaded up on Freddie and Fannie, but then after tossing them, put over 25% of the fund into Wells Fargo...to promptly watch it lose over 50%. What kind of idiot fund manager puts 25% of an entire fund into one stock? Maybe that moron needs to go back to Investing 101 and retake the class on diversification. Sure it's a sector fund, but you still diversify within the sector.

I had been watching this as a play to catch a rebounding financial sector, but, considering WFC will be the next bank that sees a sub-$5 share price, this fund has a bunch to fall before hitting bottom.

My God - 25% of a mutual fund in one stock - you either have to laugh your ass off, or be crying that Fidelity has let this guys run a fund.

A couple of things: Their trade is extremely slow, especially limit order. You have much higher success rate at Etrade if you do limit order. At Fidelity, you stuck there for long time.

They change the margin requirement to their advantage at teh worst day. I just find out a couple of stocks' margin requirement get changed to 100%(no margin) over night(in the warst day, Sept 29). That is when you need to most. At Etrade, the same stock still has 50% margin.

Fidelity also charge much higher fees for mutual fund trade because they probably want you to its mutual funds, which only the junky oone are open. Fidelity really sucks! Avoid!

If you accepted the charge then it's your decision. Huh.
If you transfer funds yourself there usually is no charge. If you elect to have Fidelity do your work then you were made aware. IMO
I use Fidelity.com all day every day and love their software and support. Just try speaking with them and I believe you will be impressed.
Please don't bother bashing I am probally researching things like FICDX and FSNGX which have done great.
