Actually, I dont think I am paying for anything above and beyond an unmanaged index fund. This fund is not actively managed apart from occasional rebalancing. Bridgeway has an excellent record of service and their passively managed funds, eg BRLIX and BRSIX, are competitive with other passively managed funds. Ethical in this case does not imply they are not trying to turn a profit. Bridgeway donates 50% of its profits to charity and does not invest in tobacco. A nice feature but that is not the deciding factor in my choice to invest with them. BRLIX has outperformed VFINX over the last five years and has a lower initial purchase (2K vs 3K for VFINX). What difference does it make to you if someone chooses this fund due to minor, but significant differences from other funds? I suppose it gives you an opportunity to post a witty remark. Well done!
