The most recent annual report for BRLIX has included some changes in the holdings for this fund. The following stocks have been added:
Apple Inc
Abbot Labs
CVS/Caremark Corp
Halliburton Co
Hewlett-Packard Co
Monsanto Co
Occidental Petroleum Corp
Visa Inc

Stocks that have been dropped from the index include the following:
Applied Materials Inc
Dell Inc
Home Depot
Eli Lilly & Co
3M Co
time Warner inc
Texas Instruments Inc
Wachovia

Such rebalancing has taken place in 2-3 year intervals since the fund inception. A quick look at the numbers has shown that the changes have led to considerable improvement when compared to the calculated fund performance in the absence of these maneuvers. Certainly, I am happy to see the addition of Apple, Monsanto, and more petroleum at the loss of Home Depot, Dell, and financials. Just thought I would pass the changes on as the holdings posted on Yahoo are dated. Good luck!

That seems reasonable. Naturally Smallcaps will outperform over the long term. I'm using this position instead of SPY or VFINX, which tend to perform about the same. Hopefully, everything will bounce back in time.

after been 50 years in the market, including several years as a broker in a major firm before starting my own non brokerage firm, I believe that at todays prices, you may still be 5 to 10 percent from the bottom BUT at this time next year, i would guess the value of this fund would be ahead of todays price, as will most funds..of this type

Still going to DCA in this fund (taxable account) as it continues to fall (like most everything now). I had considered a more diverse fund but this seems to at least mirror the S&P 500 or slightly outperform it most of the time. Any thoughts on long term (10 year) horizon for these mega-large caps?

Actually, I dont think I am paying for anything above and beyond an unmanaged index fund. This fund is not actively managed apart from occasional rebalancing. Bridgeway has an excellent record of service and their passively managed funds, eg BRLIX and BRSIX, are competitive with other passively managed funds. Ethical in this case does not imply they are not trying to turn a profit. Bridgeway donates 50% of its profits to charity and does not invest in tobacco. A nice feature but that is not the deciding factor in my choice to invest with them. BRLIX has outperformed VFINX over the last five years and has a lower initial purchase (2K vs 3K for VFINX). What difference does it make to you if someone chooses this fund due to minor, but significant differences from other funds? I suppose it gives you an opportunity to post a witty remark. Well done!

I agree. There is not another fund like this with such a low expense ratio. Unlike truly passive funds and ETFs BRLIX is rebalanced with new purchases in accordance with the magic computer programs written by the Bridgeway team. Over the long haul this fund will at least be on par with the performances of S&P 500 funds like IVV and VFINX. For the difference in expense ratios with slightly lower ETF and Vanguard funds, I prefer the ethics and sound reputation of Bridgeway.

Mutual funds out there. Should be a core holding in a well diversified portfolio. Low expenses and at this time in the business cycle a great oppurtunity! Good Luck to all longs.
