I don't understand why they hung on to MSFT so long. Microsoft has problems (current versions office and Windows Vista are FLOPS in my opinion). Open Source software is becoming more reasonable option as more and more of us cannot afford Microsoft's office suite and Open Source compatibility improves.

Lastly, isn't the PC going to be "done away with" in a short time as new technologies come online? What piece of that does Microsoft have?
