I bought the shares on 9/23/08. I have never received a dividend. My share price, however, is up 5.03% in about 14 months. About what I had hoped for as far as total return.

This fund is for what you might otherwise park in a money market fund.

I have it in a tax deferred acct. as well. Frankly, as the market continues to go up and reach some sort of extreme, I would like to think I will be smart enough to take some profits in my AAPLs, etc. and put it back in here.

Don't play this fund for dividend and/or income. Use it for rainy day cash you don't need for a year, two etc. and think that inflation will return........and it will.....I just don't know when. Capital appreciation is what you will get out of this. GL..

I thought this was a bond fund--also I thought there was a limit to the amount of transactions they allowed--I got frozen last year on tranaction numbers.

I have a very small amount in an IRA in this fund. I am trying to decide what the real value of it is. I expect higher inflation, but the gov't rigs the inflation numbers. BGEIX is a better inflation play, but 8% up or down every day doesn't do much for your nervous system.

Investors push and pull money out of this fund like 6 year olds with piggy banks. It's a great predictive inverse indicator of where stocks are heading, especially in the short run day to day direction. The fact that it's dropping and dropping quick means next week should be a longs dream.

Agreed, I tried to 'save' some money from the money market depreciation by investing in this fund. While inflation is always severely underreported by the US gov I figured investing in the US gov TIPS would be safe, wrong, but I've learned an expensive lesson of what to never do again. My guess is that many foreign interests/investors have the same knowledge.

I've been in this fund for little over a month and It's down 12%. Is it the mattress from here? I read that even brokerage money market funds are experiencing large redemptions because of the risk. My American stock fund recently went from a Morningstar 3-star fund to 5-star status because it's "only" down 40%. The 5 stars aren't going to send my kids to college. And I'm not so confident that this fund will earn 24% any time soon, which it will need to do just for me to break even after a 12% drop.

I understand there are "rumors" that we may be headed into a recession. I'm glad to hear we're not there yet, because this is the worst I've seen in 40 years.
