This is a very good fund. Reasonably priced (actually a bargain now) and has some very good companies in its porfolio. Like every fund out there is has underperformed this year, but not nearly as bad as others (take the 42% drop in Growth Fund of America). This fund will rebound by summer of 2009 and it is best to get in it now. The dividends are good too.

I concur. I stuck with this fund for 5 years but it just wasn't keeping up. I liked the divident and capital gains but I finally swapped out for CGMFX which is up over 20% from when I bought it. Good luck to all those who stay in. It's a nice, conservative fund.

I had 25% of my Mutual Funds in TWEIX and 25% in GABEX. I sold all of the TWEIX and bought SFVTX & TIBCX. I believe that the message board is a good tool to discuss performance and concerns about the fund. It seems that people don't use the board to their disadvantage.

I jumped into GABEX, seeing better results already. TWEIX just seems to be having an off year, not completely out of it, but moved enough over to GABEX to see the difference. Also, GABEX is monthly dividends, which I kind of like.

Actually the NAV isn't dropping. The spike downward in Dec. by approximatly 60 cents was to account for the year end Capital Gains and distributions of .63 cents.

Since that period it's been trending slightly upward with the market gains.
