The problem I see is that folks are thinking that the move in gold is only temporary and they are therefore unwilling or nervous about bidding up the gold shares. At some point this tension will have to break hard either up or down. My guess is that it will break hard to the up side. However, perhaps a better play is to simply buy spread options and look to win whichever way the darn thing moves.
