Lower farm incomes don't bode well for fertilizer sales -- especially since the United States Agricultural Department is expecting bountiful corn and soybean crops this year.

On Friday, UBS analyst Don Carson downgraded Mosaic ( MOS - news - people ) and Potash Corp of Saskatchewan ( POT - news - people ) to "neutral" from "buy," citing more modest expectations for potash growth.
